Who we are
About McNeil Red Cross
The McNeil Red Cross Club was founded in the 2026–2027 school year as a chapter of the American Red Cross. As high school Red Cross volunteers, we work to make our school and our community a safer place through community service and volunteering.
McNeil Red Cross is dedicated to giving students opportunities to help the community. Members volunteer at events organized by the American Red Cross and attend seminars to develop their knowledge of medicine and humanitarian aid. Along the way, members learn skills such as disaster preparedness and first aid, assist in relief efforts, and meet other driven, like-minded students.
Throughout the year, we organize activities that benefit both our community and the American Red Cross, including blood drives, first aid and CPR training, and disaster-preparedness education. How do I join the club?
Everyone interested in joining McNeil Red Cross should register both with the American Red Cross Volunteer Connection (to sign up for events and log your hours) and with the club itself. Head over to our Register page to get started. We look forward to working with you!
Are members required to pay dues?
Yes, club dues are currently $5 per member. You can bring your dues to one of our meetings.
Is there a minimum number of volunteer hours I need to complete?
There's no specific number of hours required to remain a member, but we encourage you to take part in as many volunteer opportunities as you can. You can keep track of your service on the Hours page.
Where and when are meetings?
For the 2026–2027 school year, we meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 4:30 PM in Mr. Palencia's room (F104). If you're not on our email list or Remind yet, join as soon as possible so you don't miss updates and reminders.
